What oem actions are needed after a Target DB is upgraded?

Thanks for taking my question!

I'm very new to oem 12c. I have it up and running and it is currently monitoring 6 or so databases. All my databases including OEM repository are at 11.2.0.4. We are a windows shop.

I am starting the process of upgrading our databases to 12.1.0.2. Can anyone comment on whether the below steps are reasonable? Is there a way to upgrade the agent on the target database without having to totally delete it?

Stop the agent on the target 1 database

Upgrade target 1 database to 12.1.0.2

uninstall the agent on target 1 database server

install a new 12.1.0.2 agent on target 1 database

delete the old target 1 from the OEM

rediscover the new OEM target 1.
