What is the meaning of '-1' used in sql prompt query

As I m very new to sql query,,,, in my sql based report , I see one lengthy statement, which is not perceived by me ... as

('-1' in (#promptmany('Param_VoyageRef','string',sq('-1'))# ) or (jh.job_reference in (#promptmany('Param_VoyageRef','string',sq('-1'))# )))

Please guys let me know the concept,, so that I can write the same by my self..
