What is the difference between gpnp and olr functionality ?

Hi,

I was reading the details on GPNP and OLR in oracle RAC 11gR2 but could not find the exact difference in both.

From my understanding after reading is that both these files are used to get the details of Cluster(OCR/Votedisk) present in ASM Disks and start the cluster which otherwise is not possible till the ASM is up.

I could not get exactly which one of these both (GPNP & OLR) is accessed for getting the details of OCR and Votedisk and start the Cluster.

I would really appreciate if someone can clear this point.
