What is sqlplus client

Hai buddies!

I am connected to the oracle database using PL/SQL developer.

I prefer using sqlplus ... either the one with the black screen in ms dos or the one with white screen.

How should I go about it?

I installed the client and I don't see anything working.

Please guide me.

Everytime I set my path for instant client, my PL/SQL developer doesn't work, will receive TNS error.

Please guide me.

In the first place, I am not sure if instant client has GUI and so on. So, please guide me.

I removed my the path to the client from the environment variable. How should I test if my previous installation is working or not?
