What is officially latest java release?

Hi,

I wonder what is officially the latest JRE java release? Java 6 is out there, but the only place I can find it is on the developer network and there JDK distributable is available. No plain PRE package. If I go to http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp I can only find JRE 5 update 11, no JRE 6.

What is the idea behind this? What is the offcial latest version?
