what is jsessionid?

Hi all;

I am using javax.servlet.HttpSession for session tracking and javax.servlet.http.Cookie for cookies...

I have heard about jsessionid..is it different from what i am using above?i couldn't find any valuable documents about jsession id from google...what is the advantage using jsessionid...

please inform me, i will be appreciated
