New to Java

Hi,

Can anyone give me a few examples of where Java is being used these days? from what I can gather it seems big in enterprise but I want to be able to give a few examples in a presentation I am to give.

Java seems to be alot more popular in Europe than the USA although thats maybe not true its the idea I get when looking around.

Does anyone know if Java is being used for any of the latest games for the desktop?

What might be a typical program used in enterprise? I understand that this could varie a hell of a lot depending on the company needing tehh application but even some generic answers would give me a big help.

What are JSP and servlets? as I understand them they are programmes that run on the server and you access them via your browser, these let you interact with the page and send requests back to the server where the data is processed and then the app sends back the output to the browser.

I would be grateful for any sort of overview which would give me an idea of Java uses.
