What is java requirement in Jobs ?

Hi i am new to java. i started using Java 2 Black book..I think i m doing well with that...but i m confused as when i serach for java jobs . it only shows J2EE required. and i m not sure what i am learning is the correct thing or not.. i will tell u what i have finished

i finished

1) applet
2) menus and other awt classes
3) strating java beans now.

Am i learning the right thing with respet to the job market.

any help would be appricieated
