what is it? (PERL.EXE)

I'm cheking the listener.log and I saw a exe file called perl.exe connecting to the database... from the directory PROGRAM=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_2\perl\5.8.3\bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\perl.exe

DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THESE? COULD SOMEONE EXPLAND IT TO ME PLEASE ?
