What is best approach? B2B - XML Gateway?

Hello,
We are orchestrating a B2B solution for our current client and I would like to know what is the best approach to interface Oracle B2B to E-Business Suite.

Can we use the existing maps and interfaces provided with XML Gateway and use EBS Aapter with XML Gateway, or write our own APIs? What do most people do?

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
