What does Non-RAC Rolling Installable mean??

User_5YY0LApr 28 2017 — edited Apr 28 2017

Hello,

Can someone please confirm the terminology with non-RAC Rolling Installable VS Rac rolling installable?

My current assumption is: "non-RAC rolling installable" means that you must shutdown all nodes in the cluster before applying the patch

where as

"RAC Rolling installable" means you can apply the patch on each node one by one by shutting down each node one at a time to apply the patch while leaving the other nodes in the cluster up.

Is this correct? A few one off patches that we are planning to install say "This patch is non-RAC Rolling installable", while others say "This patch is RAC Rolling installable".

Please clarify. Thanks
