what does dbca do, how to get around add-on products

I like using dbca, but not everything about it, of course. It loads all this add-on stuff, APEX, Ultrasearch, yada, yada, yada. I find that Ultrasearch is in 11.1 and unsupported in 11.2 and expdp from 11.1 into impdb on 11.2 leaves a mess of garbage. The garbage comes from using dbca on the 11.1 side. I don't use APEX or Ultrasearch. It would be nice if dbca would give you the option of not installing these components...

So, how can I do the good things that dbca does and leave out the junk? What are all the things that need to be done? Perhaps the correct answer is to use dbca and uninstall the cruft. There is all sorts of dbconsole/maintenance jobs that are in play, DEFAULT_MAINTENANCE_PLAN, SYS_AUTO_SQL_TUNING_TASK......

I wonder what can be pulled out without major headaches?
