what are the difference B/W deterministic function and result_cache function

Hi Experts,

Could you please explain the difference B/W deterministic function and result_cache function.

And which scenario  what function will be used. Please provide real time examples.

As per my knowledge both functions stores the result in SGA and are used to improve the performance.

Please help me.
