want to hide uid/password from the URL when opening the report

I've been reading old threads about this issue, and it looks like only option is using key map file with static uid/password listed on this file.
this is not an for me since the client has thousands of users with different IDs and it changes periodically.
I'm not using Oracle Forms. just calling the reports from the Windows application.
is there any new way of hiding the UID/Password from the URL?
