VM's dropping packets?

623443Feb 15 2008 — edited Feb 15 2008
I have a dell 1950 with 16gb ram and dual core xeons hosting 3 linux VM's with 4 GB of ram allocated to each.

Eth0 on each VM drops packets during any intensive network traffic, i.e doing a 'find' command on a NFS share or SCP'ing a large file back and forth.

For instance :
Kernel Interface table
Iface MTU Met RX-OK RX-ERR RX-DRP RX-OVR TX-OK TX-ERR TX-DRP TX-OVR Flg
eth0 1500 0 8936135 6095 7497 0 6761255 0 0 0 BMRU
lo 16436 0 2825 0 0 0 2825 0 0 0 LRU

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? This seems to be specific to Oracle VM as we have the same model of server hosting Vmware Server and the VM's have no problem with lost packets/errors.
