VM crashes during installation/formating disk drive

JimJan 25 2012 — edited Jan 27 2012
Hi!
I created VM in Oracle VM 3.0.3 using separate Local Disk 1Tb for repository.

Virtual disk has size 90Gb. VM type = HVM. Oracle Linux 5u7 as guest OS.

I connected to console, started installation process, partitioned disk, configired VM's network. After message about installation logs Installer became to format /dev/hda. When progress became more 75-80%, i saw that VM got in stopped state.

I tried to launch Installer again and run rescue mode. I succeed with partitioning drive. (100M-hda1-/boot; 10G-hda2-swap; other-hda3-/). I succeded with creating ext3 fs for hda1, hda2 but got the same issie when i created ext3 fs on last partition /dev/hda3.

I also tried to make 4 partitions (100m-hda1-boot,10G-hda2-swap;30G-hda3-/; other-hda4-). VM also stopped during making fs on /dev/hda4.

Creating small last partition with only one cilynder doen't help. Problem occurs when i try to use more than 70-80% of virtual disk.

Changing virtual disk type to sparse/non-sparse also doesn't help.

xend.log doesn't contain any messages. I just see Installer welcome screen.

/var/log/ovs-agent.log contains:
[2012-01-25 11:50:51 5482] DEBUG (OVSNotificationServer:138) Sending notification: {DOMAIN} 0004fb00-0006-0000-9603-085016e2c8a0 {SHUTDOWN} crash
[2012-01-25 11:50:52 5482] DEBUG (OVSNotificationServer:138) Sending notification: {DOMAIN} 0004fb00-0006-0000-9603-085016e2c8a0 {START}

Any ideas?
