VM as a virtual SAN?

EdStevensJul 8 2015 — edited Aug 27 2015

I've had a though rolling around for some time now, but never really followed up on it.  Then I saw a post from Billy Verryene in /etc/multipath.conf for virtual Box that sounded like it might be what I'm after.

I maintain a 'computer lab' on my desktop, using Vbox.  I have about 6 vm's running various releases of Oracle Linux.  I have often wondered if it would be possible to create a VM to act as a virtual SAN to the others, and if so, how one might go about it.

Thoughts?
