VitualBox VM won't start with Host-Only Adapter

Hello,

I have installed the latest version of VB (5.0.8) on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit 24 with GB ram. I need to use Host-only Adapter for a VM Appliance that I'm importing. The VM I've created won't start. It receives this error:

I've configured it in preferences like :

pastedImage_1.pngpastedImage_2.png

Other adapter types like NAT and Bridged Adapter allow the VM to start.

I've tried many combos of uninstall, cleanup, boot and reinstall with no success. I've try installing as Admin and not (I have admin Privs). I've uninstalled/reinstalled the VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter as well. I've tried VB 5.0.6 with the same issue. Just creating a bare VM (i.e. no appliance import gets the same thing. I have the latest VB extensions installed as well.

I'm lost. Does anyone know why this would be? I'm setting up for doing a Hands-On Oracle lab called HOL9982. At one point I was able to start the VM with a Host-only adapter, but after trying to get Host-only networking going and making many changes I can't start the VM.

I'm lost. Does anyone know why this would be?

Thanks,

Richard
