virt cannot find "qemu-system-x86_64" on 8.2

User_48ZV5Sep 15 2020 — edited Sep 15 2020

Just evaluation OL 8.2 UEK....normally I run Debian.

I will primarily use it as hypervisor host.

Installed the following packages:

qemu-kvm

libvirt

libvirt-client

virt-install

libosinfo

virt-top

And did a "dnf update".

But to my surprise virt is giving me the error "error: Cannot check QEMU binary /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64: No such file or directory"

No problem, I just created a symbolic link to /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm and I'm up and running.

But this doesn't give me much confidence about OL....but before jumping to wrong conclusions, am I missing something?
