Wondering if anyone has come accross an issue we have experienced over the past couple of months in my organisation as our IT partners are not making much progressing in working out whats happening and thought someone here might have some thoughts.
We sign into Discoverer from Oracle apps via a responsibility that normally brings the user to the workbook listing screen, for a small number of users occasionally this does not happen and they are shown a message telling them 'Viewer is busy processing your request' this then moves onto the 'processing your export request' screen (this happens even if the user has not signed on before). If the user attempts to access Discoverer a little later (between 30mins - 1 Hour later) then this issue dissapears and they can run reports as normal.
When this occurs our IT partners have reviewed the Disco Server and confirmed that nothing looks out of the ordinary, our networks team have checked things and do not see any peaks that could be contributable. The fact this resolves itself after a short period of time makes this incredibly difficult to solve, unfortunately I do not have access to the Server just Disco Admin, Desktop, Plus and Viewer.
I have observed this happening in our development environments (when accessing Plus or Viewer) on rare occasions although not at the same time as this happens in production. All our development environments (3) are housed on the same Discoverer Server as Production although activity in these environments is limited to myself and I do hold off any development work during peak usage times.
We are on disco version 10.1.2.55.26. I have asked users to clear their Internet Cache and re-log into Oracle and Discoverer however the problem remains.
There have not been any report or EUL updates that have been made within the past two months so I am a bit foxed by this problem - any thoughts gratefully received.
