Very Slow SSH connection after 11gr2 rac with gns install

Got 11gr2 RAc installed with no problems, gns seems to work as advertised.

Now I know gns does not do reverse lookups and ssh uses that as part of the authentication process.

So while we have setup a reverse lookup in the main dns, ssh on linux [unbreakable 5.3] doesn't seem to be finding it.

Does anybody have a sugegstion as to where I might look to fix this ?
