Vdbench on a RAW drive with 512e and 4k native drives

user8877873Sep 23 2014 — edited Dec 10 2014

Hi,

Is Vdbench fully compatible with 512e and 4k native Disk Drives when running against a RAW drive?

I have come across an anomaly with the validation option in that it does not allow you to specify validate=yes and align=4k within the same parameter file (claims they are mutually exclusive), so for an emulated drive I have no option but to run unaligned if I want data validation. I know the main point of alignment is for performance and when running performance you would not want validation at the same time, but does it not make it easier on the host and system if the validation is also run on physical sector boundaries instead of logical boundaries?

Thanks,

Gavin
