/var/cache/yum Increase/fill up root diretory daily

LinziMay 1 2018 — edited May 16 2018

I have this server (Oracle Linux 7.4 using ULN) with a root directory size of 14G, 6.7G used and 7G free spaces. Every morning, this 7G will be filled up with contents in /var/cache/yum

/var/cache/yum/x86_64/7Server/ol7_x86_64_latest is huge, 6.8G.

Other server, with the same version of Linux, seemed to be okay, and the same folder was less 500M.

Anyone has an idea why this problem happen? Also, I don't think I have automated update schedule, but why it is always the same time of the day this happen? Is the size of the root too small that I created?

Thanks,

Ling
