Using Oracle Virtual Box for Production Environment

Shareef KhaleelAug 2 2017 — edited Sep 14 2017

Dear All,

We have simple production environment; One Physical Application Tier (12.1.2); and Another Physical Data Base Tier (11.1.0.7 Enterprise); we need to go virtual; we are planning to use OL 7.3 as a guest with another OL7.3 as hosts (one for dbTier and the other for appsTier); some suggested to use oracle vm server; but it needs 2 physical servers; one dedicated for VM servers and the other for virtual manager; others suggested to buy Windows Server as host with 2 Oracle Linux as guests on windows hyperV; but we prefer Linux as host; any how Can we use Oracle Virtual Box instead; i mean One Physical with 2 virtual using virtual box? and does this will provide a solid production environment?

Thanks and Regards,

Shareef
