Using GTTs instead of Oracle APEX Collections

Tony FatourosAug 7 2014 — edited Aug 7 2014

Hi,

I am using Oracle APEX v.4.2 and wanted to see if there were any issues with using Global Temporary Tables (GTTs) over Oracle APEX Collections. I recall reading another post here that mentioned that there were issues with session ids and GTTs.

I basically want to call a package procedure from a dynamic action where this procedure will perform some form of processing and insert records into a GTT, which I would then use to call from within a APEX SQL Classic report. I am looking at setting up the GTT to preserve rows and would perform an EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'TRUNCATE TABLE GTT' statement within APEX.

Can anyone pls let me know of any issues with the above scenario or am I better off sticking to APEX Collections.

Hoping to hear back from someone soon on the above and possibly with any examples of using GTT's in a similar fashion.

Thanks.

Tony.
