Using DMU in Oracle 12.1.0.2 to change from WE8ISO8859P1 to WE8MSWIN1252

Chris SmidsMay 17 2019 — edited Jun 11 2019

Hello,

We have a database for which we need to change the DB characterset from WE8ISO8859P1 to WE8MSWIN1252. I follow the instructions described in the example "Using CSREPAIR" under "Reparing Database Character Set Metadata" in the "Oracle DB Globalization Support Guide" (=> https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/NLSPG/ch11charsetmig.htm#GUID-5F2F37FD-D4B4-4E30-A81F-B52C6BF0DA13).

When I choose WE8MSWIN1252 within the field "Assumed Database Character Set" in the DMU then I always get the error message "Failed to update assumed charset" and therefore I cannot perform a full database scan.

Is there anyone else who encountered this issue before ?

Thank you very much in advance !

Greetings,

Chris
