Using both Oracle and SQL server

Are there a lot of companies using both Oracle and SQl server for their production RDBMS?

Is it common to use both database for their production and development environment? the current trend of DBA job require to be an expert in multiple RDBMS ( i.e Oracle and SQL sever)? how much benefit you can get in your career?

My compnay is using both Oracle and SQL server, so i need to know both system pretty well..

Can you recommend any books or documentations for learning SQL Server( administration/programming) for Oracle DBA/;Developer?
