Using ASM on Single Server with local disks only

Hi.

I will reconfigure my Oracle enviroment and i want to know if there is any advantage in using an Oracle ASM disk setup on a single server with only local disks?

My server has 8 SAS Drives (not SSD) and its configured with raid 10. If i use Oracle ASM i will make my local setup much more complicated. I have no plans to use a RAC cluster in the forseable future so the use of ASM will be only for local performance.

What do you say? Its worth'it the compexity? Should i stay with default linux storage?
