USERSCRIPT problem

Hi all.

I'm trying to get the example from Rittman Mead (http://www.rittmanmead.com/2012/07/navigating-to-bi-content-in-obiee11g-and-passing-multiple-parameters/) to work, editing the USERSCRIPT file to incorporate the customPortalPageNav function.
However, no matter what I try, Analytics will not show any functions after service restart. Even the original functions are now gone, and restoring the original file from backup doesn't help even - still no functions available.
This is strange. Is it not enough to restart Presentation Services?
I purge the cache with SAPurgeAllCache. Is this not efficient enough?

Does the javascript file have to be saved in ANSI/Unix format for the server to be able to process it? (We're running OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on Windows 2008 Server).

I see several postings here where similar problems are described, but no solution so far.
Any help would be highly appreciated :-)
