User synchronization from Oracle HCM Cloud to On-Premises Active Directory

Taruna SharmaAug 5 2024

Hello,

We have requirement to synchronize users from Oracle HCM Cloud to on-premises Active directory. Client currently uses on-premises active directory as primary active directory controller and work email and work phone gets generated in AD.Below is the high level process flow:

  1. Worker is hired in Oracle HCM Cloud
  2. Worker info flows into AD
  3. Work phone and work email get generated in AD
  4. Work phone and work email get updated for that user in Oracle HCM Cloud.
  5. Any changes to that user in Oracle HCM Cloud should get propagated to On-Premises active directory.

We are planning to implement this synchronization using Microsoft AD bridge in OCI.Kindly help clarifying below queries if you have worked on similar requirement.

  1. In this case, worker is hired in Oracle HCM Cloud without work email and AD team will manually create account in AD.

Ques - Can AD bridge create account for that user in HCM Cloud?

If yes, how that user account will be linked to that user? Which field is used to link the account with the user?

  1. User terminated in Oracle HCM Cloud

Ques - What happens in AD when user is terminated in Oracle HCM Cloud

Also, please share if Microsoft AD bridge is not the right option to implement the given requirement.

Thanks in advance,

Taruna

My Oracle Cloud tenant, cloud account, and secure email have no issues. Why haven't I received my password reset email for Oracle Cloud? This is very strange, and our attempts have not been able to solve the problem. May I ask who I should turn to for help?

If your account is a paid one, open a Support ticket.

If it is a Free Tier then you will have to rely on help from the community. Most probable cause that you did not receive the password reset email is that your account has been stolen and the email has been changed.

Thank you for your reply!
But when I chatted with the online customer service, they told me that my Oracle Cloud tenant, account, and email were all fine. So, there shouldn't be a problem of theft.
I have a free account, but who can I contact on the forum? I can only post, but no one on the forum can view my account permissions, right. I am currently trying to reset MFA, I don't know if it works.
It's quite ridiculous that I have a free account and can't enjoy any services, but how can I become a paid user if I can't log in to my account.
