User Manager in OIM

amit_bansal03Jan 10 2010 — edited Feb 2 2010
Hi All,

We have a trusted resource application set up with OIM. As part of regular practice an utility in the trusted resource application send us the user to manager mapping (user logins of both) to upload in OIM. Initially we were creating the trusted recon events (with user id and new manager name) to upload the manager. But now the utility turns to send the updates on daily basis and it doesn't seems good to me (as per my understanding) to create 40000 recon events to update manager of user. And thats why we were thinking to update our manager update task to directly update the manager in OIM DB. As per my understanding to update the manager you have to update the USR_MANAGER_KEY (USR_KEY of User's manager) in USR table. Am i missing something? There is one more attribute USR_MANAGER exist in USR table. What is the use of this attribute as i see this attribute blank for all the users (manager and normal user both)?
Does this attribute existing in USR table for no use like USR_LOCATION or are they using internally? Please answer. Thanks in Advance
