User is not able to view columns in synonym table

After adding a column to a view, a specific user is unable to see this column in all_tab_columns.

I've also tried creating a new view and I'm not able to see ANY columns in all_tab_columns. With this new view, I've granted select permission to the user.

This is Oracle 9i.

Any ideas?
