User Authentication via Tomcat?

Hi,

Could anyone tell me how to create a basic user Authentication using Tomcat just like doing the same as .htacess and .htpassword and login and password pompt poping up in the apache server after configuring the user name and password.What is the equivalent in Tomcat. How to make the jsp page authenticated before it is actually seen. Solutions pls!
