USER ACCOUNT LOCKS REPEATEDLY

user53878Jan 3 2007 — edited Jan 8 2007
All:

Have 3 9i Db's running. Periodically one of 2 web-servers (Oracle & ColdFusion Mx7) executes a scheduled script executing a data transfer from Db1 to Db2.

Sporadically we are finding the user employed for this action "LOCKED."

I am struggling to determine exactly what is occuring that causes this user lock.

I doubt a password failure as the p'word is coded into the CF and PL/SQL scripts and would expect a more consistent failure than we are seeing.

Ultimately am looking for some advice as to where to look to trouble-shoot this user status and what may be happening to cause the lock.

I have reviewed the profile limits, but most list as DEFAULT.

Could anyone advise as to suggested troubleshooting steps, and/or
where I can review the default limits for the GEN_PROFILE, and/or
any other ideas relevant to this scenario?

Thanks to all willing to allow others to benefit from their experience!

THANKS!
