Useable Flash Recovery Area... inceases rapidly

misterimranJul 1 2008 — edited Jul 2 2008
Dear all,

I have recently installed 2 nodes Oracle RAC 10gr2 on Oracle Enterprise Linux version 4 update 5. ASM is my storage option and medium is iscsi shared storage.

Since I have changed the mode of my database to archieve log mode i am having memory problems. Useable Flash Recovery Area is consuming lot of disk space and when I its size after some time the free space is like 5 to 6 %.

Recently i set my db_recovery_file_dest_size to:

alter system set db_recovery_file_dest_size = 3257483648 scope = both;

I am also getting alerts ORA-16038: log sequence # cannot be archived.

Someone told me that after installing RAC database 10gR2 its necessary to make some important changes related to memory and automatic statistics collection otherwise database runs slow and give errors.

What are the important changes I need to make in my RAC database? What settings should i perform to make it rum smoothly. I am new to Databses and need your help.

Regards, Imran
