use two different ODBC driver

553819Jun 11 2007 — edited Jan 15 2008
Hello

I've installed ODBC driver for 9.2.0.1 and 10g in one PC. I also have two servers, one with 9.2.0.1 and the other with 10g database servers. What I'm trying to do here is to investigate if I can have the two different ODBC drivers installed on the same computer and working OK.
In order to do that, I want to try to connect to both servers using both drivers. However, I have an unexpected problem: first I installed 9i client software, and modified tnsnames.ora. Then, I installed 10g client software, and it seems to be OK. The problem is that when I try to configure a new DNS with this driver, there are no items in the "TNS Service Name" combobox, in the "Oracle ODBC Driver Configuration".
I'm guessing that this problem occurs because there is no tnsnames.ora file to configure in the c:\XEClient folder. So, my question is, how can I make a connection using 10g ODBC driver, if I don't have a TNS list?

Thank you
