Use of OATS for Production Monitoring?
Does anyone have any experience of using OATS for the monitoring of "live" systems (in a Production environment)?
In theory at least it would be simply be a matter of running "smoke tests" with single VUs over extended periods. I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences with this sort of approach (I know other tool vendors highlight this area as a benefit).
I guess one of the main issues might be how to 'notify' relevant parties about failures (or breaches in response times)? Coding some sort of email generation could be one approach.
Another issue might be problems if/when VUs fail for whatever reason (which might necessitate re-starting the whole test)?
