use of Driving site hint

Hi All,
I have a query which do the insert in my host DB selecting from remote DB
So my question is Can i use Driving Site Hint in there , will it produce any resonable effect??

11g
Records are around in millions also using NVL funtion in where clause.
Guess it might help :)
