Usage of OSR

RaviKiranSaviriganaSep 4 2014 — edited Sep 9 2014

Hi

How are you doing!

This is a general question on usage of OSR. I'm aware of the uses of OSR, but I'm really not able to figure out the exact start point of using OSR.

My doubt is that...

If I want to expose a service to external consumers, I'll publish the wsdl to OSR. This can be done in 2 ways.

     1. Develop the service first, and publish it to OSR (Using Jdev for SOA Composites, Using sbconsole for OSB)

     2. First, upload the wsdl into OSR (publish only wsdl), and then create a business service based on that wsdl from OSR

First way is straight forward.

Is the second way a valid scenario? Can we use OSR like MDS where we'll have the wsdl's & xsd's first, and then develop services using them?

In the second way, which is publishing the wsdl (service is not created as of now) to OSR - how can I browse the wsdl from local machine? Seems like the UI takes only URL(http://...), but not a file pattern (As in this case, since the service is not developed yet, there cannot be a http://... url for the wsdl yet). Also, what if the wsdl has references to several different xsd's in different folders? xsd upload and wsdl upload are 2 seperate links here, so how are these references resolved?

Appreciate your help.

Regards

RaviKiran
