Usage of EO Java Classes

Hi ADF Gurus,

There are three java classes which can be generated within an EO. How and when should one use these three classes i.e.

The entity object class ,The entity collection class, The entity definition class

I understand the usage of entity object and Collection but fail to understand the usage of definition. Can you advise?
