Urgent: ORA-24315 Illegal attribute type running mod_plsql

Has anyone experienced problems with the error:
"mod_plsql: ORA-24315 LogOn ORA-24315: illegal attribute type".

There does not seem to be any pattern of when and why the error is thrown and the error disappears after a few hours without restarting the Apache server.

We suspect that the error has something to do with sessions not being able to reconnect but are not sure.

We are running Apache and mod_plsql, Apache on one server with NT4 (SP6) and Oracle Enterprise Edition 8.1.7.2 on a server with NT4 (SP6).

ANY help would be appreciated.
