I am a student who has just been introduced to Oracle MRP E-Business Suit and I was wondering if it is possible to take quality data from an Excel spreadsheet and input that information into a Quality Collection Plan. The reason for this is emplyees want to perform work without being connected to the network. They want to take a portable device such as a laptop or a tablet and enter in the information in a spreadsheet then upload that information into the Quality collection plans when they can plug into the network. There are network ports around the area however they would like to have the portability of the laptop/tablet so they can enter in the data next as they are working on the machines.The quality collection plans have a lot of triggers and actions to verify the data being collected and I still want those triggers and actions to fire when the Excel file uploads the data. I would also like to know if there is an application or additional software that helps with this upload. I have heard it might be possible through an API but I am not sure how those work with the system. From my perspective, it would be easier to just extend network cables to wherever they are working so they can plug directly into the network and enter in the information into the quality collection plans but I want to look at all my options.
