Java Development Tools

Hello,

I'm asked to upload and download files to a certain directory. I was able to upload files to a table using this post: [http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/11/26/jdev11-1-2-1-0-handling-imagesfiles-in-adf-part-2/#comments].
But i'm not able to find a good example for uploading and downloading to a directory (since they rejected the idea of uploading files to a database). I read a little about "Webcenter" and the "Document Manager" tool within it!
It's great! But i need to link the files to their corresponding details (issue date, reference number, etc..) which should be stored in a database (the details).
Can anyone guide me please?
