Upgrade Vs New Installation

Hi Guru,

I need some clarification before upgrade our database from 10.2g to 11.2g

Our application using oracle 10.2g , we are planning to upgrade/new installation to 11.2g

Now which is the best way either Upgrade or a new installation , considering my existing DB is on 10.2 .

What are the disadvantages i will face if i go for New installation instead of upgrade?
