Upgrade to IE11 from IE8 for EPM version 11.1.2.1

Hello,

Currently we are using EPM version 11.1.2.1 on our servers which is being accessed from IE8. MUB is looking at enterprise-wide upgrade from IE8 to IE11 but after doing some research we found that some of the application functions(We mostly use HFM) for version 11.1.2.1 are not supported on IE11.

My question is what would the procedure to upgrade IE 8 to 11 without any compatibility issues?like any patches to install, redeploy the application etc.

Also if we install Firefox, would it be a better choice than IE?
