Upgrade Application Express 2.1.0.00.39 to Application express 3

Dear all,

I have installed oracle express edition and i have built several applications and deployed it to end users and all of these are working fine.

By default oracle express edition of database contains Application Express 2.1.0.00.39, now i saw application express 3 has come, can i upgrade by Application Express 2.1.0.00.39 to application express 3, if yes what is the procedure.
I have already downloaded apex 3.0.zip , but i am not sure that this can upgrade Application Express 2.1.0.00.39 ( which come by default with oracle database 10g express edition.
