Update varchar2 column with string concatenated

Hello,

I must do an update on varchar2 column (called PRO_TURN) everytime is verified this ELSIF (it's in a LOOP).
The string is into nextLinkID.
I'm doing so. Is it possible?
ELSIF (rec.SEQNR = 2) THEN
BEGIN 
SELECT LINK_ID INTO nextLinkID FROM PT_LINK$ WHERE ID = rec.TRPELID;

UPDATE PT_LINK$ SET PRO_TURN = '|'||nextLinkID WHERE ID = currLinkID;

END;
