Update Key and UD1 and UD2 etc in ODI 11G

Hi Experts,

What is the use of Update key and UD1 ...UD10 etc flags in ODI 11G. Where can we use in ODI level?

Could you please Give clarity for UPDATE Key check box and UD1,UD2......etc.
