Unusual Oracle process is running; How to kill it properly?

rade.todorovichOct 21 2011 — edited Oct 21 2011
Hello,

I found an oracle process (through EM)

Process ID Command CPU Utilization (%) CPU Total (seconds) Resident Size (KB) Virtual Size (KB) Owner
11603 oraclestrata (LOCAL=NO) 49.85 457,478 2,090,104 8,593,136 oracle

It is probably one of the remote application server client processes that somehow got stuck but I am not sure.

The question is how to precisely see what this process is about and if it some sort of zombie, then is it safe just to kill it with ps -kill?

We are using Oracle DB 11g and AS 10.1.3 where our JSF applications are running
