unset oracle user env variable setting on aix

redologger-OCFeb 22 2016 — edited Feb 23 2016

Hi Guys,

please advice why should one need to unset the environment variable set for ORACLE user in my AIX box as recommended by the upgrade doc below:

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41961/procstop.htm#CWLIN419

my Env uses the same aix os account for both the grid_home and database oracle_home installation.

if different os account is used for the grid_home and db oracle_home, i don't have to unset any of the environment that set for the 2 os account right?

lastly how do i unset the env variable? i have setting of my grid_home/ tns_admin, db oracle_home on my .bash_profile. Can i just rename it to something else to temporary unset it this way?
